Remote Physiotherapy for Runners & Athletes

Not every injury needs a face-to-face appointment.

Our remote physiotherapy service gives runners, cyclists, triathletes and other athletes access to expert assessment, advice and rehabilitation wherever they are.

Whether you’ve developed a bone stress injury, struggling with a tendon problem, have an old injury that has flared up, or have picked up an injury just before an important race, we can help you understand what’s going on and what you should do next.

Our remote clinic is available across the UK and can be used as a standalone service or alongside face-to-face physiotherapy.

How remote physiotherapy works

Virtual physiotherapy is highly effective for many sports injuries and musculoskeletal conditions. Research shows that guided rehabilitation, movement analysis, exercise prescription and load management are often the key drivers of recovery — all of which can be delivered effectively online.

Our remote consultations are designed to be thorough and comprehensive. We begin by taking a detailed history of your condition, followed by a focused physical assessment. During the appointment, we’ll evaluate your movement patterns, perform a functional assessment, and assess your muscle length and strength. This helps us create a personalized treatment plan that is tailored to your specific needs.

What can we help with remotely?

You don’t always need hands-on treatment to benefit from physiotherapy. Many sporting injuries are managed primarily through education, load management, exercise and progressive rehabilitation — all of which can be effectively delivered remotely.

Remote consultations can be particularly useful for:

Bone stress injuries & stress fractures

Get expert guidance on diagnosis, load management, education on risk factors, cross-training, rehabilitation and a safe return to running or sport.

Tendon injuries

Whether you’re dealing with Achilles, patellar, hamstring or another tendon injury, we can help you understand your symptoms and develop a progressive loading programme to keep you training and racing at your best.

Recurrent injuries & flare-ups

If an old injury has suddenly become painful again, we can help you work out what has changed, what you should do now and how to get back on track with your training and racing goals.

Return to running & sport

Whether you’re coming back from an injury, surgery or a period away from training, we’ll help you rebuild strength, impact tolerance and training capacity.

Acute injuries before a race

Picked up an injury in the days or weeks before an important race? A remote consultation can provide timely advice on whether you should race, how to modify your training and what to do in the meantime.

Overuse & training-related injuries

Persistent niggles or injuries that have gradually developed with increasing training? We can assess your symptoms, training load and contributing factors and help you decide how to modify your training.

Got a race coming up?

Don’t know whether you should race with an injury?

A remote consultation can help you understand your injury, assess the risks of competing and give you practical advice on training and racing.

Expert physiotherapy wherever you are

Whether you’re recovering from a stress fracture, trying to get back to running after an injury or looking for guidance with your training, our remote physiotherapy service gives you access to specialist support without needing to travel.
