ITB syndrome occurs when the iliotibial band — a thick band of connective tissue running from the hip to the knee — becomes irritated and inflamed as it rubs against the outer part of the knee.
Symptoms are often aggravated by running downhill or walking downstairs. Common contributing factors include sudden increases in training volume, excessive downhill running, changes in running surface or terrain, and poor bike fit.

We also offer adjunct treatments including taping and dry needling where appropriate.
We are passionate about helping you stay involved in your sport throughout recovery and can adapt your training plan to keep you active while managing symptoms. We can also provide guidance on running footwear and bike fit to help reduce the risk of recurrence.
